Canada New Minimum Wage 2024
The Canada New Minimum Wages has been launched by the employment and social development of Canada and government of Canada for all the working Canadian workers in the year of 2024. On 1st April, 2024 the department raised the minimum wages of Canada from $16.65 to $17.30 per hour to maintain the cost of living of the employees. This adjustment shows the increment of 3.9% in Canada’s annual consumer price index for the year of 2023 and it is according to the inflammation. If You Are Not Paid On An Hourly Basis
If you are not getting the payment or salary on the basis of hours then you will receive the wages equivalent or more then minimum wages. If you are getting the payment annually or according to the mileage rate then the ministry of labor may fix a rate rate which is equal or more then the minimum wages. The rate will be calculated on the basis of salary you are receiving (excluding the holiday pay, vacation pay and overtime pay) and will be divided by the total number of work hours on which you worked.
Employees Under Age Of 18 Years
You can work under the age of 18 years if you fulfill below given conditions:-
- According to the provincial law it is not important for you to go to the school
- The work you are doing is not affecting your health and security
- You are not working underground in a mine
- Your work profile is not among the works which are restricted for young employees such as Nuclear Safety and control Act and regulation, explosives Regulations 2013, and Canada Shipping Act 2001.
- You are not required to work between 11pm to 6 AM.
