$1000 Ontario Travel Credit 2024 Eligibility

Anyone who want to get the claim for their eligible accommodation expenses under $1000 Ontario Travel Credit 2024 needs to fulfill all the eligibility criteria given below:

  • Individuals can claim for the Ontario Travel Credit if they are Ontario residents in the financial year of 2023 – 2024. 
  • Only a family member can claim for the Ontario Travel Credit for the year. 
  • If you are a couple who has a common law partner or spouse and eligible children can claim for all the eligible expenses. 
  • If you are a single individual who doesn’t have any common law partner, spouse or children can also claim to get the benefit of this Ontario Travel Credit 2024.
  • The stay you did in Ontario should be for a holiday for one month or less then one month, at a short term accommodation or for camping accommodation. 
  • You can claim for the tax credit for the accommodation expenses made by an individual from 1st April, 2023 to 1st April, 2024. 

Eligible Expenses for $1000 Ontario Travel Credit 2024

    • Your expenses of accommodation should not be more than $1000 if you are an individual and for family expenses should not be more than $2000 for all single or multiple trips during the year. 
    • The accommodation booked by the individual can be booked through an online platform or directly booked from the accommodation provider. 
    • It is necessary to have access to the portion of expenses to the accommodation. 
    • A portion of tour package expenses made for the accommodation 

Not Eligible Expenses For $1000 Ontario Travel Credit 2024

Below given expenses are not eligible to get the Claim $1000 Ontario Travel Credit 2024. 

  • Any expenses which are not made for the short term accommodation or camping accommodation. Such as Car rental, Flight, parking, groceries, etc. 
  • Expenses which are made for the work tour, school education purpose, for business etc. 
  • If your accommodation expenses are sponsored by you, your common law partner, your child, friend, employer or by any other person.
